Hightlights of the show

ImageA Eurovision Summer 2017:  The Summer of 2017 has official begun and Radio International wants to keep Eurovision music in the ears of the many fans around the Eurovision. Also there are still some interviews from Eurovision 2017 left for broadcast which you will hear on the show in the weeks to come.The Eurovision Song Contest 2017 took place in Kyiv's International Exhibition Centre, Ukraine on 09 & 11 May 2017 with the two Semi Finals and the Grand Final on Saturday, 13 May 2017. Congratulations go to Salvador and Luisa Sobral for winning the Eurovision Song Contest for Portugal for the very first time with the song "Amar pelos dois (Love for both of us)". Over the next few weeks into the summer of 2017 Radio International provides the perfect Post Eurovision Depression Cure (PED) and broadcasts many of the interviews on the shows to come with the Eurovision artists from Kyiv and more. Enjoy and don't be sad - the next Eurovision is around the corner, in fact 08, 10 and 12 May 2018 from the Arena MEO in Lisabon, Portugal as recently announced. :)
Image Eurovision Weekend in Berlin 2017: The Eurovision Weekend in Berlin took place from Friday 14 - Sunday 16 July 2017. The event was partnered between OGAE Malta and OGAE Germany and international fans attended a fun weekend in Germany's capital. On the guest list were Kurt Calleja (Malta 2012), Claudia Faniello (Malta 2017) and the event is co-hosted by Glen Vella (Malta 2011). Further there was the runner up to the Germany National Selection "Unser Song 2017" - Axel Maximilian Feige. But also special guest is this year's Musical Ambassador to the Czech Republic: Martina Barta who performed the song "My Turn" at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kyiv. Over the coming weeks Radio International will broadcast interviews with the artists from this event but also listen out for interviews with the J'aime la Vlie 2017 artists on the show in the next weeks and the remaining interviews from Eurovision 2017 in Kyiv..

Image Interview with Glen Vella (Malta 2011):  Back in 2011 when the Eurovision Song Contest back from the Esprit Arena of Duesseldorf in Germany, Glen Vella represented Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 with the song "One Life" unfortunately not qualifying for the Grand Final. Glen and the team were missing ONE single point to qualify from the Semi Final 1 where Malta came 11th. Glen has not rested and released new material but also is the founder member of the very successful Animae Gospel Choir in Malta that also tours internationally. Further he is the Director of the Vocal Both Studio where many young and upcoming Maltese music talents enjoy a very good muscial school. Last July he was part of the lineup of the Berlin Eurovision Weekend 2017 as being the Co-Host of the event.  Also at the Eurovision Weekend 2017 in Berlin was last year's winner of the OGAEvision Song Contest - Sebastian Calleja who is coached by Glen Vella. Sebastian introduced his lastest song to the audience but also handed over the winner's trophy to Rilli Willow who won the OGAEvision Song Contest 2017 for Israel. Radio International's David Mann caught up with Glen Vella after the soundcheck and rehearsal in Berlin. You can hear this interview on Radio International this week.
ImageLive Interview with Michael Woodhead - Public Relations Officer for EUROSTARZ 2017:  Saturday, 19 August 2017 sees the second edition of EUROSTARZ which is a new and upcoming Eurovision event in the heart of London, United Kingdom with many Eurovision artists performing at this event in London's Star of Kings, Kings Cross with the participation of Anne Marie David (Luxembourg 1973), Karl William Lund (NF 2016, United Kingdom), Anjeza Shahini (Albania 2004), Mihai Traistariu (Romania 2006), Kurt Calleja (Malta 2012) and Salena Mastroianni (NF 2017, United Kingdom). ImageEurovision Meets South Africa - Interview with Roy van der Merwe (Eurovision Covers):  In previous years throughout the summer Radio International broadcast a set of shows including the Eurovision Meets South Africa where South African singers recorded and covered Eurovision songs in the Africans langugae. Roy van der Merwe is the man behind all of that joins JP on the show this week to talk about the Eurovision Covers project and how the idea come up and what is planned for the future in respect with the Eurovision Song Contest. ImageLocalitour d'Autore with Jalisse:  Jalisse represented Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest 1997 reaching Number 4 with "Fiumi di parole". Meanwhile Jalisse (Fabio and Alessandra) have been busy with many projects and new music plus supporting young talented artists as well as hosting their own radio show. ImageEurovision Spotlight - The Show Starters:  As every year the Radio International Eurovision Experts were brainstorming what should be the summer feature during Eurovision Radio International throughout the summer of 2017 and the team thought let's reflect on the songs that started off the Eurovision Song Contest in each year. 62 editions of the Eurovision Song Contest were staged over the years and there has to be always the first song in the Running Order of the Eurovision Song Contest. This week Chris Poppe continues the series. It will be nice to hear some long forgotten classics again on the show in the weeks to come.  
ImageEurovision Under Cover:  This ever so popular feature on Radio International is David Mann's weekly edition of the Eurovision Cover Versions where David Mann from Eurovision Norwich will be intoducing some of the finest Eurovision Song Contest entries covered by other singers. Just be surprised. You will be hearing the actual song that has been on the Eurovision stage followed by the cover. Listeners are encouraged to send in their cover versions they came across over the years to share with the other fans tuning into the show. Alternatively, listeners can send in their request for a particular Eurovision covered song using this link.

ImageEurovision Song Contest News: Nathan Waddell joins the team in the studio every week to bring you the news and the latest developments connected to the Eurovision Song Contest such as the National Finals or if it is music releases of Eurovision performers, special concerts, gossip, etc Nathan will have it all for us during the weekly edition of Radio International. ImageNew Song Releases by Eurovision Artists Radio International is always keen to know how the careers of Eurovision performers develop after their performance at the event. The show is in collaboration with many Music Companies that supply Radio International with the latest songs of their signed up artists to bring the muisc closer to the fans. On a weekly basis Radio International receives songs which are being featured on the show.

ImageEurovision Quiz:  Scratch your heads and bite your nails at  our weekly Eurovision Song Contest Quiz. Good luck and win a copy of a past Eurovision Song Contest Final on DVD or a dip into the Eurovision Goodies Bag. All you have to do is to identify the five clips with Artist, Song, Country and Year. Send your answers via the website's CONTACTs form. As for the quiz answers, you have two weeks time to crack the quiz after Radio International was aired live. That gives the chance for the listeners who were not able to join us live on Wednesdays to participate in the quiz and the draw for the prize. Good Luck!
