Week 29/2017 - This week on Radio International - A Eurovision Summer 2017
Image(19 July 2017) The Team of Radio International takes you through a fantastic Eurovision Summer 2017 with lots of music and refelctions of Eurovision 2017 as well as the best Eurovision Summer Tunes.  You are cordially invited to the weekly Ultimative Eurovision Experience live each and every Wednesday from 2000 - 2300 hours CET. Read on to see the different means where the show is broadcast.

In addition, Radio International will be transmitted live on the Facebook Group "Eurovision Radio International". You will be able to listen and see the show as well as chat with the fans worldwide. On Wednesday, 19 July 2017 at 2000 hours CET go to the Facebook Group "Eurovision Radio International" and enjoy the show and chat with the fan community.

ImageApart from the means of FM Radio in the Netherlands on FM 106.8 and the audio stream from the studio via www.radiointernational.tv, TUNEIN and on Digital Cable 916 & cable 88.1Mhz in the Netherlands, the show will also be web-televised via Livestream from the studio and linking up the many international Eurovision fans and friends and play your requests and read your messages out on air. The channel includes a Chat Room. Tell your friends to join in - SPREAD THE NEWS. Normally, the simulcast is from 2000 – 2300 hours CET when Eurovision fans can join in and chat amongst each other via the Chat Room and request their favourite Eurovision entry. Image Eurovision Weekend in Berlin 2017: The Eurovision Weekend in Berlin took place from Friday 14 - Sunday 16 July 2017. The event was partnered between OGAE Malta and OGAE Germany and international fans attended a fun weekend in Germany's capital. On the guest list were Kurt Calleja (Malta 2012), Claudia Faniello (Malta 2017) and the event is co-hosted by Glen Vella (Malta 2011). Further there was the runner up to the Germany National Selection "Unser Song 2017" - Axel Maximilian Feige. But also special guest is this year's Musical Ambassador to the Czech Republic: Martina Barta who performed the song "My Turn" at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kyiv. Over the coming weeks Radio International will broadcast interviews with the artists from this event but also listen out for interviews with the J'aime la Vlie 2017 artists on the show in the next weeks.
 
ImageInterview with Aarzemnieki (Latvia 2014):  J'aime la Vlie 2017 took place at the end of June, beginning of July 2017 on the Dutch Wadden Island Vlieland with the participation of  Lenny Kuhr (Eurovision Winner 1969, Netherlands), Glen Vella (Malta 2011), Tom Dice (Belgium 2010), Lisa Angell (France 2015), Aarzemnieki (Latvia 2014) and Esther Hart (Netherlands 2003).  Details of the event such as photos and videos can be viewed here. Radio International had the big pleasure to conduct interviews at the evend with some of the artists. Radio International starts broadcasting these interviews on the show next week with Aarzemnieki. The crazy band represented Latvia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen, Denmark, when "Cake to Bake" failed to qualify for the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2014. Radio International's JP met up with the singers in Vlieland for an interview which you can hear on next week's edition of Radio International. Enjoy!
 
ImageLocalitour d'Autore with Jalisse:  Jalisse represented Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest 1997 reaching Number 4 with "Fiumi di parole". Meanwhile Jalisse (Fabio and Alessandra) have been busy with many projects and new music plus supporting young talented artists as well as hosting their own radio show. Each week Radio International is delighted to broadcast the Song of the Week from the Italian Independed Music as selected by Jalisse and also broadcast on their weekly radio show. ImageEurovision Spotlight - The Show Starters:  As every year the Radio International Eurovision Experts were brainstorming what should be the summer feature during Eurovision Radio International throughout the summer of 2017 and the team thought let's reflect on the songs that started off the Eurovision Song Contest in each year. 62 editions of the Eurovision Song Contest were staged over the years and there has to be always the first song in the Running Order of the Eurovision Song Contest. This week Dermot Manning continues the new series. It will be nice to hear some long forgotten classics again on the show in the weeks to come. 
 
ImageEurovision UnderCover:  Radio International each week inserts into the show Eurovision Cover Versions where David Mann from Eurovision-Norwich will be intoducing some of the finest Eurovision Song Contest entries covered by other singers. Just be surprised. You will be hearing the actual song that has been on the Eurovision stage followed by the cover. Enjoy the brand new series.  Listeners are encouraged to send in their cover versions they came across over the years to share with the other fans tuning into the show. Alternatively, listeners can send in their request for a particular Eurovision covered song using this link   
 
Image New Song Releases by Eurovision Artists Radio International is always keen to know how the careers of Eurovision performers develop after their performance at the event. The show is in collaboration with many Music Companies that supply Radio International with the latest songs of their signed up artists to bring the muisc closer to the fans. On a weekly basis Radio International receives songs which are being featured on the show.  
 
ImageEurovision Song Contest News: Nathan Waddell usually joins the team in the studio every week to bring you the news and the latest developments connected to the Eurovision Song Contest such as the National Finals or if it is music releases of Eurovision performers, special concerts, gossip, etc Nathan will have it all for us during the weekly edition of Radio International. He also takes a look at some statistics such as viewing figures in the various countries and more. Nathan is website editor with escxtra.com. In addition, Eurovision News is available on www.eurovision.tv, This week Nathan is on holidays and with the usual lack of Eurovision News in the Summer the Eurovision News return next week.    
 
ImageEurovision Quiz:  Scratch your heads and bite your nails at  our weekly Eurovision Song Contest Quiz. Good luck and win a copy of a past Eurovision Song Contest Final on DVD or a dip into the Eurovision Goodies Bag. All you have to do is to identify the five clips with Artist, Song, Country and Year. Send your answers via the website's CONTACTs form. As for the quiz answers, you have two weeks time to crack the quiz after Radio International was aired live. That gives the chance for the listeners who were not able to join us live on Wednesdays to participate in the quiz and the draw for the prize. Good Luck!
