ImageInterview with The Herreys (Eurovision Winners 1984, Sweden):  On Saturday, 25 January 2014, OGAE Germanyheld their annual convention in Munich, Germany with the participation of many national and international fans, Eurovision Reference Group Member from Germany - Dr. Thomas Schreiber, Hostess of the National Finals of Germany Ms. Caroline Reiber and Valentina Monetta (San Marino 2012, 2013 & 2014), Malene Mortensen (Denmark 2002), Jahn Johansen (Sweden 1995) and last but not least - they were there too - Eurovision Royalty from Sweden. 
ImageThe Herreys won the Eurovision Song Contest 1984 in Luxembourg which is a mere 30 years ago :)  OGAE Germany are extremely happy that the brothers from Sweden followed the invitation and came to Munich for the OGAE Germany annual convention 2014. JP and parts of the Team of Radio International were on location and interviewed the winning brothers Richard, Per & Louis Herrey after their sound check. In the above photo you see the record sleeve of the 1984 Winning Song "Diggi-Loo Diggi-Ley" which was also the opener of the Eurovision Song Contest 1984. The Herreys won the contest with a total of 145 points. ImageInterview with Valentina Monetta (San Marino 2012, 2013 & 2014): Also part of the guest list of last Saturday's OGAE Germany convention was Valentina Monetta and Ralph Siegel. Valentina represented San Marino already twice. In 2012 it was the "Socal Network Song" which came 14th in Semi Final 1. In 2013, she represented San Marino with the song "Crisalide" which came Number 11 in Semi Final 1 and she will be waving the San Marinese Flag once more in 2014 with a song that has been composed by Ralph Siegel. JP chatted with the singer to find out more about the song. ImageEurovision Song Contest Spotlight - The National Final Season 2014:  With a start of a new quarter that means it is also the start of a new feature on Eurovision Radio International. In the last quarter of 2013 Radio International went through the history of Denmark at the Eurovision Song Contest. And over the Christmas Break the national final season has officially begun. Like in previous years the Radio International Eurovision Experts will be assessing the National Finals 2014 live on Radio International. Alasdair Rendall continues with the national final season taking a look at the National Final Heats of Finland and the Hungary
ImageMalta Eurovision Song Contest 2014 - The Results: As every year Radio International supports the Malta Eurovision Song Contest in which the Maltese Population and an International Jury select the most suitable song to represent the Maltese Islands at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen come May. Like in 2013, pbs uses the same format where this year the national selection consists of a Semi Final with 20 songs that is narrowed down to 14 Finalists out of which the Maltese representative to the Eurovision Song Contest will be selected. Gianluca Bezzina won the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2013 with the song "Tomorrow" which also made it sucessfully to the Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmoe, Sweden last May. Who will succeed the Doctor Gianluca?:) The Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2014 will be televised on Friday, 07 February 2014 (Semi Final) and Saturday, 08 February 2014 (Final) and will be available to watch online as well. escflashmalta.com will keep you up-to-date with the developments. Image Eurovision UnderCover:  Last week, Radio International started a brand new series on the show featuring Eurovision Cover Versions where David Mann from Eurovision Norwich will be intoducing some of the finest Eurovision Song Contest entries covered by other singers. Just be surprised. You will be hearing the actual song that has been on the Eurovision stage followed by the cover. Enjoy the brand new series.  Listeners are encouraged to send in their cover versions they came across over the years to share with the other fans tuning into the show. Alternatively, listeners can send in their request for a particular Eurovision covered song using this link. David Mann's been digging deep in his treasure box for this week's Eurovision Cover song. Don't miss it!
ImageNew Song Releases by Eurovision Artists:  Radio International is always keen to know how the careers of Eurovision performers develop after their performance at the event. The show is in collaboration with many Music Companies that supply Radio International with the latest songs of their signed up artists to bring the muisc closer to the fans. On a weekly basis Radio International receives songs which are being featured on the show.
